La infància és un període fonamental per la maduració del cervell i el desenvolupament mental. En ell intervenen múltiples factors. Diversos estudis realitzats en animals han generat la hipòtesi que les partícules ultrafines en l’aire de les ciutats poden interferir negativament en el desenvolupament. Descobrir el nivell de contaminació a les escoles i comprendre el seu paper en la salut infantil és un dels reptes del nostre temps. Aquest coneixement permetrà crear entorns més saludables i sans als actuals per les futures generacions.

Objectiu de l’estudi: Estudiar l’impacte de la contaminació en l’aire de les ciutats sobre el desenvolupament cognitiu dels nens
Característiques de l’estudi: L’estudi es fa en nens de segon, tercer i quart de primària de 40 escoles de Barcelona amb diferents nivells de contaminació.
