La infancia es un periodo fundamental para la maduración del cerebro y el desarrollo mental en el que  intervienen múltiples factores. Varios estudios realizados en animales han generado la hipótesis de que las partículas ultrafinas en el aire de las ciudades pueden interferir negativamente en el desarrollo. Descubrir el nivel de contaminación en las escuelas y comprender su papel en la salud infantil es uno de  los retos de nuestro tiempo. Este conocimiento permitirá crear entornos más saludables y sanos a los actuales para las futuras generaciones.
  • Objetivo del estudio: Estudiar el impacto de la contaminación en el aire de las ciudades sobre el desarrollo cognitivo de los niños
  • Características del estudio: El estudio se ha realizado en niños de segundo, tercero y cuarto de primaria de 40 escuelas de Barcelona con diferentes niveles de contaminación.
