Initiatives

Our initiatives seek to enhance the impact of our work beyond the sphere of science. They build on areas in which we have international scientific leadership and explore all possible elements of research translation in order to provide solutions to current key challenges in global health

Chagas

Our aim in this initiative is to contribute to the international effort to prevent, treat and control Chagas disease.

Malaria Elimination

Through this initiative, we hope to contribute to the global effort to eliminate and eventually eradicate this life-threatening disease.

Urban Planning, Environment and Health

We aim to apply rigorous scientific evidence, tools and indicators to promote sustainable and healthy urban development.

Antimicrobial Resistance

We contribute to the understanding of the causes and risk factors for antimicrobial resistance, and to the development of new drugs and vaccines.

Maternal, Child and Reproductive Health

Working to accelerate progress in women's and children's health and advancing the sustainable development agenda.

How We Work

How We Work

The pivotal mechanism of our work model is the transfer of knowledge generated by scientific research to practice
