Investigadora postdoctoral Infància i medi ambient, Planificació urbana, medi ambient i salut

Amanda Fernandes is an Epidemiologist expert on Urban Health. She is a Next-Generation Marie-Curie fellow leading the project “GREEN PRINTS: The pathways and biological mechanisms linking urban green spaces to childhood cognitive development”. GREEN PRINTS is the first Europe-wide study producing robust and comparable evidence on green space impact and biological mechanisms related to cognitive development in children (funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR).

Amanda Fernandes studied sports sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais in Brazil, where she graduated with a diploma in 2013. She joined the Belo Horizonte Observatory for Urban Health at the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil to study urban health and evaluate the impact of a community-based program in low-income neighborhoods for her M.Sc (2015). In her doctoral work, Amanda Fernandes studied how daily mobility affects the assessment of environmental effects on health as a part of her internship at INSERM in Paris (2018). She returned to INSERM as a postdoc fellow on the MINDMAP study (2019) in ageing-related mental health and urban environment.
