04.07.2016

The 2015-2016 edition of the Master of Global Health, organized by ISGlobal in collaboration with the University of Barcelona (UB), has concluded ends of June.

On June 29 and 30, a total of 18 students enrolled in the Master of Global Health and the Master of Clinical Research-UB, delivered their final presentations to an evaluation committee. The assignments, developed during the course under the guidance of a specialized supervisor, addressed a wide variety of topics in Global Health: strategies to avoid the emergence of insecticide resistance, extracellular vesicles as biomarkers for Chagas Disease, molecular basis for the virulence of streptococci associated with perinatal infections, or impact of sexual education programs among teenager students, among others.

Elena Marbán, student of the Master in Clinical Research, observed: “The Global Health experts participating in this master have introduced me to new fields of knowledge and career opportunities. The most exciting aspect has been to apply this new knowledge during the development of my final paper”. “It has been a greatly enriching experience and it will be very useful for my future career in research”, added student Clara Mazagatos.

The Master of Global Health is designed for students and professionals that seek to develop their professional career in health, from a global and transdisciplinary perspective. Pre-enrollment for next course 2016-2017, which will be entirely in English, is now open.
