The Barcelona Institute for Global Health opens a Group Leader Position

ISGlobal seeks to attract research leaders in global health, particularly in emerging viral diseases and health systems research

The Barcelona Institute for Global Health has opened a position for a ‘Mid-Career/Senior Group Leader' in any area of global health, but a  particular consideration will be given to applications from emerging viral diseases and health systems researchers.  With this, ISGlobal seeks to attract a dynamic research leader that brings new ideas to the institute and strengthens existing research lines.   

ISGlobal is internationally recognized for its excellence in research, translation and application of knowledge. The selected candidate will be offered a position at the Associated Research Professor (tenure track) or Research Professor (tenure) level and will receive full support from the institution to establish his/her research group and a competitively funded research agenda in a context of intensive in-house and international collaborations. The candidate will benefit from a highly stimulating environment since more than 200 persons of 22 different nationalities work at the centre. The institution is located in the heart of Barcelona, in the University of Barcelona School of Medicine – Hospital Clinic campus. 

Barcelona is considered a pole of biomedical research and hosts a large network of hospitals, universities, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, and technological parks. In addition, the city has much to offer in terms of cultural activities, traditions and quality of life. Barcelona, historically open to the Mediterranean and other European cities, has developed a unique and universal identity thanks to its capacity to innovate, create and absorb different influences.
