At the sixth annual award ceremony of the Ciutat del Prat Prizes held on 11 April, the City Council of El Prat de Llobregat honoured the work of three local figures and one local organisation: the historian Josep Ferret, the scientist Carlota Dobaño, the sommelier Joffre Tarrida, and the Prat Basketball Club.

The scientist Carlota Dobaño, a researcher in CRESIB—an ISGlobal research centre—was awarded the prize for her contribution to human rights and social solidarity through her scientific work in the fight against malaria.  In her acceptance speech, Dobaño highlighted "the importance, particularly during times of economic crisis, of the role of local government in influencing the wider political sphere to prevent cuts in research funding and to promote a broader vision that will ensure a better future for our children".

The Ciutat del Prat Prizes honour the exemplary work and contributions of people and organisations who have contributed to fomenting freedom, solidarity and equality by furthering the progress of our society, good citizenship, economic initiative, sustainable urban development, defence of the environment, defence of human rights and the achievements of citizens who have demonstrated excellence in sports, culture, or other activities.
