The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. What We Are Looking for
ISGlobal is seeking a person with a technical support profile with a Statistical degree who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the UBIOESGD projects. The candidate will work as a statistical consultant at UBIOESGD. The main task will be that of a statistical consultant for different types of projects managed by the UBIOESGD. These projects cover different areas of study such as malaria, chagas, maternal and child diseases, environmental, ... In some of these projects, the candidate must also perform tasks related to data management.

The UBIOESGD is the technical department for statistical support and data management at ISGlobal. The unit is responsible for managing data from several of the research projects carried out at the institution. As part of the support, the UBIOESGD participates in the development of data management plans, data collection, data cleaning, data curation and preservation. For this, the UBIOESGD has different computer programs, the main one being REDCap.
The UBIOESGD is also responsible for carrying out the statistical analyzes of several of the projects managed by ISGlobal researchers. Within the statistical tasks, the Unit is responsible for drafting the project analysis plans and their resolution. Part of the statistical tasks of the team are the writing of the methodology used for the scientific articles that emerged in the research of the projects, as well as reviewing the results in the format of tables, graphs and conclusions arising from them.
Currently, the UBIOESGD is made up of a team of 8 people including data managers and data analysts.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS
A candidate is required with a university degree in statistics and a minimum of two years' experience in a position with similar characteristics.
- Advanced knowledge of statistical models
- Advanced use of one of the Stata and/or R statistical packages
- Advanced use of REDCap data management program
Work in a multidisciplinary team providing statistical support in research projects. Whenever it is necessary to provide support in data management of the research projects in which you participate.

The selection process is designed in two phases:
1- Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2- Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
