The objectives of the SwS-Hub are as follows:

• 1) To include patients, caregivers, and civil society organizations in the decision-making processes of research agendas as well as in the design and implementation of research and innovation projects, thereby producing knowledge and innovations that are meaningful and useful for society.
• 2) To build and strengthen the capacity of ISGlobal research groups, as well as other scientists, to conduct high-quality participatory research.
• 3) To further develop and deliver internal and external training on participatory research and innovation.
• 4) To establish international collaborations with organizations engaged in participatory research and innovation activities.
• 5) To capture and monitor the outcomes and impact of participatory research and innovation initiatives.
• 6) To communicate and disseminate the results and activities of participatory research and innovation.
• 7) To enhance scientific knowledge among the general population through dissemination activities and participatory actions designed with and for society.
