Laura Chica Castells is a political scientist specialised in climate change, the environment and public health from a feminist, decolonial and equity-centred perspective. She currently works as a policy technician at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health.

Her experience is interdisciplinary, combining research and outreach projects using qualitative and participatory methodologies; she also has experience in cultural and artistic mediation. During her time at ISGlobal, she has participated in the European projects TipESM y C3S National Collaboration Program, as well as in national projects such as ‘Voices for Health: narratives and action against climate change’ and the Biennal del Pensament and has also undertaken consultancy work.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Manchester and a Master’s degree in Political Ecology, Degrowth and Environmental Justice from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has worked at the Barcelona Laboratory for Urban Environmental Justice and Sustainability, conducting fieldwork on the impact of urban planning on women and non-binary people in Barcelona. She also has experience in the third sector, having worked at WWF UK on the design of advocacy and communication campaigns.
