Our Team

Raül Torán is the Head of the Science Culture Unit (UCC+i) at ISGlobal. He holds a degree in Physics from the University of Valencia (UV), a Master’s in Environmental Health (UV/Universidad Internacional Menéndez y Pelayo), and a Master’s in Science Communication (Pompeu Fabra University).

With over 20 years of experience in science communication and outreach, he has worked in various research centers as a communications officer or manager, including the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC), the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), and the Catalan Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences (ICCC).

He is currently the Project Manager of the Catalan Association for Scientific Communication (ACCC) and a member of the scientific advisory committee of Vil·la Urània, as well as of several events such as Barcelona’s Science Festival and the Science Week of Catalonia. He has overseen notable outreach projects including BiblioLab Ciencia, Researchers’ Night in Catalonia (Barcelona node, 2018-2019), and Parking Day Barcelona, among others.
