This exciting initiative is traversing sectors, disciplines and borders to guarantee to all one of the most fundamental of human needs.
Yet despite increased momentum, gaps remain in addressing global health issues with an approach comprehensive and diverse enough to tackle the complexity of the issues withstanding. If new achievements are to be made in the post-2015 agenda, we must continue adapting strategies. Increased dialogue and receptivity are essential components to deliver quality, efficacious and sustainable solutions.
On June 25th and 26th the Global Health Next Generation Network is hosting its second annual conference, which serves as an opportunity to connect students and recent graduates with established professionals The Global Health Next Generation Network serves as an example to strengthen communication and collaboration amongst global health professionals. This organization of young global health advocates boasts members from five continents from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, united in their determination to promote and strengthen their presence within the field. The objectives of the network are to connect like-minded students studying global health, fortify the presence of emerging professionals in the field, and to continue improving global health education.
On June 25th and 26th the Global Health Next Generation Network is hosting its second annual conference, which serves as an opportunity to connect students and recent graduates with established professionals in the field of global health. The event features a dynamic series of panels and workshops where seniors can promote their expertise, while also having the unique opportunity for discussion from a fresh perspective. The two day conference will be held at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, and is open to all global health professionals —regardless of experience level—wanting to encourage transdisciplinary collaboration, as participants will yield a considerable variety of expertise, skills and backgrounds. The event counts with the collaboration of the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal).
The theme of this year’s conference is: Ensure the Voice. The message serves not only for the event but has a wider application to foster communication and cooperation amongst global health professionals across all levels. By participating in the conference, attendees can help promote, listen to and nourish the ideas of the next generation of global health professionals, who will ultimately be responsible for the many challenges that still lie ahead.
