Arantxa Ribot Horas

Director of the Social Observatory of the "la Caixa" Foundation

Arantxa Ribot Horas holds a PhD in Education (Universitat de Girona), an MSc in research and innovation in Education (UNED), a degree in emotional education (Universitat de Barcelona) and a Bachelor's degree in Pedagogy (Universitat de Barcelona). 
  
She started her career in the social and educational field as a teacher in early childhood and primary education, as well as in adult mental health. 

Over the years, she developed an interest in socio-educational research and focused her career on teaching and researching at national (Universitat de Barcelona and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and at international (New York University) universities, publishing various scientific articles related to education, mental health and impact measurement, among other related topics. 

In 2016, she joined the educational area of the "la Caixa" Foundation, where she developed educational research projects. Since 2021, she has been the Director of the Social Observatory of the "la Caixa" Foundation. The aim of the Social Observatory is to generate knowledge through social sciences and disseminate research results outside of academia. 

Alongside her activity at "la Caixa" Foundation she teaches socio-educational research in several master’s degrees at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
