Spanish Society of Epidemiology awards the INMA

INMA researchers (Childhood and Environment) received four awards during the XXVIII Scientific Meeting of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology (SEE), held between 27 and 29 October.

These scientists were extended these distinctions to all INMA members and all families and children who participate selflessly in the INMA project, as published on its web www.proyectoinma.org.

The awards in question were:

  • 1st Prize of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology at the best original work published in Epidemiology in 2009. A prize was for work 'cognitive function and overweight in preschool-aged children', by Monica Guxens, Michelle Mendez, Jordi Julvez, E Plana, Joan Forns, X Basagaña, Maties Torrent and Jordi Sunyer.
  • 3rd Award of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology at the best original work published in Epidemiology in 2009, which has been on publication 'Association in the early years of life at home gas appliances and nitrogen dioxide Inside the houses, with cognition and attention in the behavior of preschool children ', by Eva Morales, Jordi Julvez, Maties Torrent, de Cid R, Mònica Guxens, Mariona Bustamante, N Künzli and Jordi Sunyer
  • Two awards for being among the ten best papers presented by young epidemiologists. These two awards were for the following two papers:

'Iodine intake during pregnancy, maternal thyroid function and neurodevelopment child', by Mario Murcia, Marisa Rebagliato, Mercedes Espada, Mar Álvarez, Jesús Vioque, Carmen Iniguez, Maria José López, Jesús María Ibarluzea and Ferran Ballester, and

"Levels and associated factors of organochlorine compounds in Valencia pregnant 'by Sabrina Llop, Ferran Ballester, E Vizcaíno, Mario Murcia, María José López, Marisa Rebagliato, Jesus Vioque and Joan Grimalt.
