The level of mother's education influences  influences on the neurodevelopment of children, according to a study published in Infant Behavior and Development and written by the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology in Barcelona (CREAL).

One aspect under investigation is the evaluation of the factors that are associated with the development of children. In fact, it is known that there are environmental exposures that affect social and biological development and that they are modifiable.

This study, in Cretan cohort, analyzed social factors and constraints during pregnancy and childbirth. Researchers have observed that certain elements, such as education of the mother or child's sex -girls obtain higher score- are more relevant.

"We evaluate complex aspects of child's development as a cognitive, mental, communication skills / language, motor skills and fine motor skills of hands, body and fingers. And psychosocial aspects such as behaviour or communication with the environment, " has listed Manolis Kogevinas, CREAL codirector and author of the article.
