Science for Patients

On the access to medicines and the current R&D model

The current biomedical research and development (R&D) model is failing to generate access to medicines, either because it is not invested in certain therapeutic areas or because innovations have exorbitant prices that are unaffordable both for the population and for their own healthcare systems.

The Science for Patients project is aimed to detecting opportunities which can help promoe a more transparent, responsible R&D model that involves a wider spectrum of actors, including professionals in the scientific field. Evangelina Martich, Clara Ballesté and María Jesús Pinazo talk about this issue on the video.
