Manel Martínez, Lluis Font and Markus Gaug will give a talk about aerosols reaching sizes from molecular dimensions to millimeters and particles. All of them are involved in the Institute for High Energy Physics (IFAE) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), Severo Ochoa Excellence centre of particulate physics, astrophysics, cosmology and medical physics. They have developed an atmospheric Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) for astrophysics in collaboration with the department of physics of the UAB, which they want to optimize for use in urban pollutant monitoring.
