Katlijn is a biologist who has obtained her PhD on Plasmodium vivax red blood cell infection last year at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium. Now, she works at the Malaria Epigenetics lab led by Alfred Cortés, where she will establish a novel epigenetic sequencing technique in Plasmodium falciparum and optimise it for low input samples.
