Lourdes Rivas

Investigadora postdoctoral

Lourdes Rivas is a Postdoctoral Researcher with over 15 years of experience in biosensors field, with a professional focus on the development of point-of-care diagnostics relevant to global health.

Her work centers on lateral flow assays, drawing on a career that integrates academic research and industrial development in Sweden and Spain. Her research trajectory includes the development of new approaches to improve lateral flow and electrochemical sensing technologies, as well as active involvement in the translation of these advances into practical diagnostic tools. She is co-inventor of two patents in lateral flow systems applicable to market-ready products.

She is currently engaged in translational research at ISGlobal, working with multidisciplinary teams to align diagnostic innovation with clinical and public health needs, and to support the deployment of accessible diagnostic solutions in diverse settings.
