People


 Jose Barrera holds a B.Sc. in Physics at University of Barcelona (1994), a B.Sc. in Statistics at Autonomous University of Barcelona (2007) and a M.Sc. in Statistics at Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2012).


 From 1995, he is civil servant of Spanish Administration (Mathematics teacher at high school). In 2009, he got a leave position to join CREAL (now ISGlobal) as a statistician.


 At ISGlobal, he collaborates in several research programs performing statistical analyses. At a methodological level, he has been working in problems such as, for instance, the integration of multiple imputation in cluster analysis, the interpretation of regression models with transformed variables, the assessment of interactions in the exposome-health association, or the design of observational longitudinal studies. He also creates R packages and R-shiny apps.


 From 2008, he is also Assistant Professor at Department of Mathematics in Autonomous University of Barcelona, where he has been teaching applications of statistics in epidemiology and supervising a number of B.Sc. and M.Sc. theses.
