This webinar will address the epidemiological situation of the SARS-CoV2 coronavirus and the current scientific knowledge about it. It will be given in English by Dr Antoni Trilla, Head of the Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology Department of the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona and researcher at ISGlobal.

Live on Thursday, 5 March, at 1 pm CET

The new coronavirus that started an epidemic outbreak in the city of Wuhan at the end of last year has managed, in only a few weeks, to draw huge attention from the media, scientists and the international community.

Currently, there are many open questions around the virus, which was first called 2019-nCoV and now known officially as COVID19. Most of the answers will come as the epidemic evolves and as scientists manage to get a better grasp of the virus’s behaviour. However, we would like to share the scientific evidence we have on this issue so far, in order to help respond to some of the questions and dispel myths and rumours.

Following the current recommendations by the health authorities regarding the new coronavirus, this seminar will be held behind closed doors in a webinar format. This means that the talk will be broadcasted in live streaming so that you can view online through the ISGlobal YouTube channel as well as on this website.

Ask the Expert

If you have any questions or doubts about the new coronavirus, you can write a comment on our YouTube channel or send it on Twitter with the hashtag #COVID19isglobal. Dr Antoni Trilla will try to answer them at the end of his talk.
