Rafael Vilasanjuan, director of the Policy and Global Development Department at ISGlobal, has received  the "Award to the Manager Involved in People Development" during the 17th edition of the AQ Awards to Excellence in Human Resources that took place at the Teatro Nacional de Catalunya on December 12. The awards recognize not only the professional trajectory but also the values of the awardees, and have become a reference encounter for human resources professionals. The event presenters underlined the importance of having leaders that “act as coaches, that motivate their team every day to seek and come up with new solutions”.

Upon receiving the prize, a grateful Rafael Vilasanjuan recognized “my work is profoundly selfish because I have always worked for values that give me much more than what I contribute”. Vilasanjuan, who previous to his current position was deputy director of the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona (CCCB) and secretary general of Doctors Without Borders, where he worked for 12 years, said that “good teamwork means that the team assumes its own responsibilities” and he hailed the fact that, after a long career, many of those that have worked with him currently occupy high-level positions.

Other awardees include the "General Manager Award for Involvement with People" to Miguel Angel Garcia, regional General Director of Olympus; "Human Resources Director Award" to Ruth Pina, Human Resources & General Affairs Director of Nissan Motor Ibérica S.A; and the "Corporate Social Responsibility Award" to the local entity Parcs i Jardins del Ajuntament de Barcelona.

Since 1999, the AdQualis Human Results Company celebrates its annual AQ Awards, where it recognizes the most innovative practices in entrepeneurial management of human resources, and recognizes the trajectories of the managers that encourage them.
