ISGlobal and IDIBAPS Deliver a Scientific Management Training Course for Professionals at Maputo Central Hospital

Strengthening research and healthcare management also requires building long-term capacities and partnerships. With this objective, Campus Clínic Solidari, in collaboration with ISGlobal and IDIBAPS, funded and organised the “Scientific Management” course, a training initiative aimed at healthcare professionals and management staff from Maputo Central Hospital (HCM) in Mozambique.

The course, held between March and April 2026, brought together 33 participants from HCM and included contributions from leaders and experts from different strategic areas of ISGlobal, IDIBAPS, the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, Maputo Central Hospital and Mozambique’s Eduardo Mondlane University.

Barcelona and Maputo strengthen knowledge exchange and capacity building

Throughout the different sessions, delivered in Spanish and Portuguese, participants addressed topics related to research, institutional management, healthcare organisation and international collaboration. Both the organising institutions and participants gave very positive feedback on the relevance of the topics covered, the practical approach of the activities and the clarity of the course content.

The course was created with the aim of strengthening capacities in key areas of scientific and healthcare management and forms part of a broader line of collaboration between the participating institutions and Maputo Central Hospital. It also marks the beginning of a series of initiatives promoted by Campus Clínic Solidari together with ISGlobal and IDIBAPS to strengthen knowledge exchange and capacity building with healthcare institutions in Mozambique.
