ISGlobal Hosts the 31st Edition of the European Course on Tropical Epidemiology

The three-week international course is being held at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Barcelona

The European Course on Tropical Epidemiology (ECTE), now in its 31st year, is a reputed international course that offers 32 students the chance to improve their knowledge and skills in the areas of field epidemiology and biostatistics. The three-week intensive course started on August 27 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona.

ECTE, a collaborative venture of various European centres specialised in global, international and public health, is held annually at a different European venue. The 2012 edition is being hosted by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health, ISGlobal.

The international component of the course is enhanced by the participation of students from around the world, many of whom are health professionals working at international organisations. The countries represented this year include Kenya, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Mexico, Australia, Argentina, India, Tunisia, and Spain.
