For the second year in a row, ISGlobal –a centre supported by the "la Caixa" Banking Foundation– offers training grants for Sub-Saharan African students who are interested in joining the Master of Global Health, organized with the University of Barcelona, during the academic year 2018-2019.

The two scholarships awarded will allow two Sub-Saharan African students to cover the entire tuition fees and university registration costs. It should be noted that these scholarships do not cover other financial needs, such as travel expenses, visa application fees, accommodation, local transportation, living expenses, insurance and laptop. Each student must pay for them with their own financial means or through additional sponsorships that they will have identified and requested.

Applicants must be citizens of and residents in a Sub-Saharan African country; hold at least a Bachelor’s University degree in a discipline related to life sciences or social sciences and demonstrate an outstanding record of high grades. They must also show a strong commitment with global health values –health equity, care for vulnerable populations and acceptance of diversity–, passion to improve the health status of their communities as well as a clear understanding of the international challenges the health community faces.

The deadline for sending the required documentation is April 30, midnight Central European Time (CET). Thereafter, the suitability of the applications will be evaluated and selected accordingly with the process described in the document attached. Accepted applications will be announced before May 28.
