Inauguration of the Lecture Hall "Manuel Corachán"

The classroom number 15 of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (Campus Clinic) at the University of Barcelona will not be a number any more. On June 23, it will become the lecture hall "Manuel Corachán" in homage to one of the pioneers of the tropical medicine in Spain. Manuel Corachán founded the first hospital department specializing in imported diseases as well as the Spanish Society of Tropical Medicine and Global Health. He has worked as doctor, researcher and professor in several countries but especially in Africa.

The opening event will start at 13 h with participation of Francesc Cardellach, Dean of the Medicine School of the University of Barcelona, Ignasi López, Director of the Department of Science and Fellowships at “la Caixa” Foundation, Antoni Plasència, Director General of ISGlobal, Núria Casamitjana, Training and Education Director of ISGlobal, and Manuel Corachán.

The event will coincide with the closing session of the Master of Global Health.
