PRISMA, the University of Girona and ISGlobal, within the framework of the European projects GEPINC and INCLUDE, are organizing on January 26 a training and co-creation event focused on intersectionality in research centers and universities, with special attention to sexual and gender diversity (LGTBIAQ+).

This session will provide a space for reflection, learning, and collaborative work to identify needs, explore, and co-create applicable solutions across different research contexts and fields.

10:00 – 11:30am | Presentation: Diversity and intersectionality in research centers and universities
Speaker: Simon Perera del Rosario (IBE-CSIC, PRISMA)

• Why it is important to discuss sexual and gender diversity in academia.
• Basic concepts: LGTBIAQ+/queer, gender, EDIA framework, intersectionality, etc.
• Good practices and guidelines: how to apply a diversity / LGTBIAQ+ perspective in research.
• Examples of practical cases.

11:30 – 12:00pm | Coffee break and networking

12:00 – 13:30pm | Co-creation session

• Brief experience presentations.
• Group work.
• Sharing the results of the reflection.

During this session, participants will reflect in groups on the needs of their centers and research fields regarding LGTBIAQ+, and seek joint solutions. Several people will briefly share their experiences and then join co-creation groups to enrich the discussion and co-create solutions.
