Paula Ruiz-Castillo

Postdoctoral Fellow Malaria


 Paula Ruiz-Castillo is an organic chemist with a special interest in global health and infectious diseases. She studied Chemistry in Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2010) and received a “la Caixa” Fellowship for graduate studies in the US. In 2016 she obtained her PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where she stayed as a lecturer and curriculum developer at the Department of Chemistry (2017). She made a transition to the field of infectious diseases and earned her MSc in Global Health from ISGlobal (2018), where she worked with the HIV/AIDS group for her master thesis.


 Paula joined ISGlobal in 2018 as part of the MESA Alliance group, where she performed literature reviews on implementation science of malaria chemoprophylaxis interventions. Currently, she is part of the BOHEMIA team at ISGlobal as a post-doctoral fellow.
