Susana Méndez

Data Manager Coordinator

Susana Méndez Bartolomé holds a degree in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and has also studied Bioinformatics at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).

She has been professionally dedicated to developing technological solutions since 1997, transitioning to the healthcare sector in 2007. In 2001, she completed a work placement at the data center of the Manhiça Health Research Centre (CISM) in Mozambique. One of the applications she developed during this placement became her final degree project, contributing to the completion of her university studies.

In 2010, Susana began working as a data manager in global health research at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal, formerly CRESIB). In 2012, supported by a grant from the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII), she led the creation and establishment of data management processes and systems at CRESIB.

She currently serves as Data Management Coordinator in ISGlobal’s Biostatistics and Data Management Unit (UBIOESGD), where she collaborates on a wide range of projects related to data engineering, data management, and information technologies.

Her recent project involvement includes TipTop, MAMAH, and MESA (malaria research); TESEO, ChagasLAMP, and CAYAC (Chagas disease); SeroCov (COVID-19); and RECETAS (urban health).
