Elisa Gallo

Elisa Gallo

Postdoctoral fellow Environment and Health over the Lifecourse | Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health

Elisa Gallo is a postdoctoral fellow and epidemiologist at ISGlobal. Her research focuses on environmental and occupational exposures and their impact on non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Currently she is exploring how chrono-nutritional patterns—the timing and composition of food intake—interact with epigenetic mechanisms to influence cardiometabolic health.

She obtained a Ph.D. in Translational Medicine “G.B. Morgagni” with a focus on Epidemiology and Statistical Medicine at the University of Padova, Italy. During her Ph.D. she investigated the effects of environmental exposures on the cardiorespiratory health of vulnerable populations in Italy.

Lines of research

  • Nutritional epidemiology
  • Public health
  • Chrono-nutrition and circadian disruptions
