Núria Botella

Statistician Environment and Health over the Lifecourse

Nuria Botella earned her BSc in Mathematics in 2018 and an MSc in Statistics in 2022, both from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). After spending four years in the insurance industry, she shifted her career toward research, seeking a more meaningful impact.

In May 2022, Nuria joined ISGlobal as a Biostatistician in the Biostatistics and Data Management Unit (UBIOESGD). Her role focuses on performing statistical analyses and managing data to support various research projects. She has gained expertise in data collection platforms such as REDCap and OpenClinica and strengthened her programming skills in R and STATA.

Nuria’s contributions cover several projects, including MaCoV, which explores the impact of COVID-19 on pregnant women in malaria-endemic regions with high prevalence of HIV infection; Equal-Life, investigating the exposome's effect on children's development and mental health; and research into the impact of air pollution during pregnancy. She also provides statistical support to the research groups led by Dr. Mònica Guxens and Dr. Payam Dadvand.

Since 2023, Nuria has also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Foundations at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona (UB).
