Stefano Guerra received his Medical Degree in 1996 from the University of Milan, Italy, where he also completed a fellowship in pulmonary medicine. Subsequently, he completed a Master in Public Health (concentration area in epidemiology) and a PhD in Epidemiology with minor in Genetics at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He is currently a professor of Medicine and directs the A2DRC Population Science Unit at the University of Arizona, and he holds a joint Faculty appointment at ISGlobal. His main academic interests include the natural history and phenotypic overlap of asthma and COPD, the childhood roots of adult lung diseases, and the use of biomarkers and genomic tools to identify molecular components and develop tailored interventions in lung diseases.
