Claudia Sanz is a science communicator and environmental scientist with a background in environmental toxicology, microbiology and public health. She currently works as an Outreach Technician at ISGlobal, where she contributes to projects connecting research, society, culture and education.

Her work combines scientific communication, content development and project coordination across different formats and audiences. At ISGlobal, she is involved in European and institutional projects related to science communication, arts and education, and equality and inclusion in research. Her experience also includes scientific writing, educational and audiovisual content, communication campaigns, events and participatory activities at the intersection of science, culture and society.

She holds a PhD in Environmental Toxicology from IDAEA-CSIC, where her research focused on monitoring antibiotic resistance and assessing the biological risks associated with the reuse of treated wastewater and biosolids. Her research experience includes fieldwork in Antarctica and the use of multidisciplinary and omics-based approaches. She also holds a Master’s degree in Pollution, Toxicology and Environmental Health and postgraduate training in Scientific Communication. Her professional interests lie at the intersection of science, art and participation, exploring creative ways of making scientific knowledge more accessible, engaging and connected to society.
