Islay Kamraoui

Research technician

Islay Kamraoui is a research technician specializing in microbiology and infection biology. Based in southern France, Islay has gained extensive experience working with molecular techniques such as PCR, qPCR, and digital droplet PCR, as well as zebrafish models for studying host-pathogen interactions.

Professionally, Islay has worked as a laboratory technician, becoming fully autonomous in bacteriology and molecular techniques including PCR, qPCR, and digital droplet PCR. These roles involved both experimental benchwork and participation in infectious disease-related projects, strengthening skills in experimental design, data reliability, and quality control.

Currently, Islay is enrolled in the TwinAIR project, aiming to improve urban life by tackling the challenge of indoor air quality improvement by understating its complex interrelationship with external factors. Day-to-day responsibilities include wet-lab tasks such as PCRs, DNA extractions, resistance profiles but also sharing her results to the team and exchanging knowledge with collaborating scientists.
