Ariadna Ortiga

Statistical Technician

Ariadna Ortiga graduated in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) in 2022, where she developed a strong interest in data analysis and its application to social and health issues. She began her professional journey as a research assistant at the University of Barcelona, working on projects related to food insecurity and behavioural interventions to improve learning outcomes and gender equity among children in Ghana.

In 2022, she joined ISGlobal through the Investigo Programme, an EU-funded initiative promoting the incorporation of young professionals into research. Ariadna currently works as a biostatistician in the Biostatistics and Data Management Unit (UBIOESDM), where she supports several research projects.

Her responsibilities include designing and implementing data collection systems, ensuring data quality, and performing statistical analyses in projects related to Chagas Disease. She has been actively involved in CAYAC, a project improving cardiovascular and Chagas disease data collection in Yacuiba (Bolivia); in PATTERN, cleaning and analysing data to identify prognostic factors in chronic Chagas infection; in ChagasLAMP, supporting data quality and reporting for a multi-country diagnostic study on congenital Chagas disease. 

Additionally, she provides statistical and data management support in projects from other fields, such as COMSAVAC, evaluating community-based approaches to hepatitis B and C screening and linkage to care in migrant populations; VITAL, focused on maternal vaccination acceptance; and MHCP-tool, supporting data collection on migrant health systems, service access, and related national policies in Tunisia.
