Nieves Martínez

Nieves Martínez Peinado was graduated in Biochemistry in the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2018. Then, she studied the Master of Advanced Microbiology at the University of Barcelona. She realized her master's thesis on the discovery of new compounds with antiparasitic activity against Trypanosoma cruzi at ISGlobal under the supervision of Dr Julio Alonso Padilla.

After that, she started working as a laboratory technician in the Chagas disease research group of ISGlobal.

At the moment she is performing her PhD in the study of iimmunothrombosis and lipotoxicity processes as mechanisms of pathogenesis in Chagas disease, under the supervision of Dr. Julio Alonso Padilla and Prof. Quim Gascon.
