Meelan Thondoo

Postdoctoral Fellow Urban Planning, Environment and Health

Meelan holds an Msc. in Medical Anthropology (University College London) and Msc. in Public Health (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine). She applies evidence-based research for increasing health in vulnerable populations and informing health policies. 
She has completed fieldwork and participated in research projects in Latin America, South-East Asia & Pacific and East Africa. 
She is currently completing a joint PhD at the Faculty of Medicine (University of Barcelona) and the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences (University of Amsterdam). She is a Transglobal Health fellow of the EMJD programme funded by the European Commission. Her thesis focuses on Health Impact Assessments in developing countries with a focus on urban policies in Africa. 
The outcome of her work serves social integration and justice, positive health impacts and grassroots participatory approaches in SIDs and developing countries.
