Twenty U.S. epidemiologists want to know the management of public health in Catalonia

04.07.2011

During the first half of July the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL) will receive twenty students and teachers of the Master in Public Health at the University of Southern California (USC) to learn how Catalonia manage the public health.

In fact, the opening of these training practices will be given by Dr. Antoni Plasència, CEO of Public Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia and President of the CREAL Board. In addition, in the course also will participate Richard Tresserras, Deputy Director General of Health Planning.

The first week of July, students and teachers will attend meetings, conferences, visits to hospitals, and public health agencies to achieve an overall public health. In the second, they’ll actively participate in various programs of the Epidemiology Service of the Public Health Agency of Barcelona, with a program of activities organized by the Agency directly.

This visit is part of the collaboration between Professor Jonathan Samet, head of the Department of Preventive Medicine in USC, and the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL).
