The European Respiratory Society recognizes Dr. Josep M. Antó for his sustained contribution to research in the respiratory field

The European Respiratory Society (ERS) ERS has launched a prestigious award to recognize excellence in contributions to research, education and clinical leadership in respiratory medicine. Dr Josep M. Antó, CREAL Director, has received this recognition and he is now among the 129 Foundation fellows.

According to the organization, the Fellowship of the ERS will bring together members who have excelled in their field to form an elite advisory board that will be called upon by the society on various matters in future years. It also provides recognition to those leaders in the field by entitling all selected fellows to use the designation 'FERS' after their name.

These 129 Fellows were announced during the launch of the award at the ERS International Congress in Munich, 2014. A further 50 Fellows will be selected each year on the basis of previous record (h-index) and contributions.
