The European Associated Laboratory, a successful experience of international scientific cooperation

03.10.2013

Today researchers of CREAL and INSERM have met to evaluate the five years of partnership with the European Associated Laboratory (LEA) in the auditorium of the Biomedical Research Park (PRBB). All agreed on the success that has led to this union and encouraged to continue working on this line.

Josep M Antó, director of CREAL, centre of ISGlobal alliance, stressed "the importance of further work in this collaboration," adding that they shouldn’t act as a "closed club" and it’s necessary to "follow opening, sharing and enjoying the benefits of international research networking." Besides this, Antó added "integration is the result of coordination and cooperation."

Francine Kauffman, director of the research group in respiratory and enviromental epidemiology of Villejuif, INSERM (France), informed about a review of what has led to this partnership over the last five years, whether in the areas of collaborations, activities, publications and training.

Now, after five years, these two researchers, who have led the project, give the baton to Judith Garcia-Aymerich (CREAL), Valérie Siroux (Grenoble-INSERM) and Raphaëlle Varraso (Villejuif-INSERM).
