Researchers from around the world focused on environment and health will gather in Barcelona

From 13th to 16th September the 23rd Congress of the International Society of Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) will be held in Barcelona. The congress will bring more than 1,200 epidemiologists from around the world at the Palace of Congresses of Barcelona. The aim of this Congress, organized by the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (Creal) in Barcelona, ??is to have some idea-sharing sessions about the internatioanl research on issues as health and environment. This includes diseases such as cancer, respiratory or reproductive problems and risk factors like air pollution, global climate change, endocrine disruptors, water pollution, the effect of alternative means of transport to cars, tobacco or radiation exposure.


The International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) is an international organization with nearly 1,000 members from over 60 countries. The annual international conference brings together many renowned researchers in the field of epidemiology and provides an excellent forum for discussion of issues related to environment and human health. Some of these researchers are: Prof. Christopher Wild, director of the International Agency for Cancer Research; Prof.. Jonathan Samet, director of the Institute for Global Health at the USC (University of Southern - California); Professor. Linda Birnbaum, director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS,) and the Professor. Bert Brunekreef, director of the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (Utrecht University).
