According to the report Catalonia’s Participation in Horizon Europe, prepared by the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR), covering the 2021–2025 period and published in March 2026, ISGlobal ranks among the top-performing Catalan institutions in the European research and innovation framework programme Horizon Europe.

The analysis, which compiles the main participation indicators of Catalan research institutions in the programme, highlights ISGlobal’s position within the top 10 in several key areas.

Specifically, the Institute ranks 10th in attracting European funding (net contribution), an indicator reflecting the resources directly received by the institution through Horizon Europe projects. ISGlobal also ranks 10th in the total number of coordinated projects.

Regarding overall participation in European consortia, ISGlobal ranks 11th among Catalan institutions in terms of the total number of projects in which it participates, further consolidating its strong and sustained presence within the programme.

Quique Bassat, Director General of ISGlobal, states that these results “confirm ISGlobal’s prominent role in the Catalan global health research landscape and its capacity to attract competitive European funding, as well as to lead and actively participate in international collaborative projects”.
