20.06.2011

The XXIII Congress of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE-International Society for Environmental Epidemiology) has closed the acceptance of abstracts of research projects with a record of 1,500. Of these 1,500, 420 will be presented in oral sessions and 1,100 will be exposed by posters between 13 and 16 September in the Palace of Congresses in Barcelona where the event will take place.

This year CREAL coordinates ISEE Congress; and Mark Nieuwenhuijsen and Manolis Kogevinas are the presidents of the organization committee. The main themes of all abstracts collected are: air pollution and the relationship with various diseases, climate change and health, water pollution, radiation, genetics, among others.

ISEE is an international organization with nearly 1,000 members from over 60 countries (www.iseepi.org). The annual international conference brings together many researchers and provides an excellent forum for discussion of the problems and benefits related to the environment and human health.
