Cycling and inhaling smoke

15.01.2010

'Cycling and inhaling smoke' is the title of the article written by the science journalist, Pere Estupinyà, who has been interviewed by the Center for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL) researcher, Audrey de Nazelle. The journalist says that someone told him: "If you go to Barcelona, you should meet Audrey".

The conversation between them enabled the CREAL researcher to explain the benefits of using the bicycle, the need for change in public policy and, of course, the projects being developed by the research center located in the Biomedical Research Park Barcelona (PRBB).

De Nazelle is clear with Estupinyà telling him that "the health benefits of walking and cycling is far greater-to-be moving away by car, despite the increased physical activity can end up inhaling a little more pollution".

For this reason, the CREAL researcher comments that "ideally would be that bike lanes are separated from car lanes".
