CREAL launches innovative HELIX project to study multiple environmental hazards for child health

08.03.2013

Next monday the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL) will start officially a new science project called HELIX with a three-day meeting at the PRBB. The project is coordinated by Prof. Martine Vrijheid from CREAL.

During the next 4,5 years, researchers will study the “exposome”, combining all environmental hazards that mothers and children are exposed to, and linking this to the health of children.

HELIX will develop high-tech tools to measure the exposome, including smartphones and biological markers.
