CREAL joins Caixa Catalunya in 'Youth and Science' program

The Center for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL) has joined the 'Youth in Science' program which fits the action line of research and developement and the Obra Social Caixa Catalunya and aims to promote scientific vocation of young students with talent and interest in science and encourage their enthusiasm for the dedication to research and scientific careers. Thus, the image CREAL expands its educational and research with national projection.

The program is an opportunity for participants to learn the essence of scientific activity and to be able to work so close, researchers and university students do research online first.

The first program was held in July 2008 and gave the starting signal stays with the Summer Science Caixa Catalunya (E2C3). For E2C3 Program has selected 53 kids who had just finished rating the ESO and offered a first experience with scientific research. During 13 days had the opportunity to work on various research projects and scientific research in the fields of mathematics, biology, astronomy and robotics. The E2C3es drove the Nature Center of the Plains Son, the center was adapted to the needs of projects and for a few days became a research center.

To join Youth and Science program students had to go through a selection process which took into account: the recommendation of his teacher (science, mathematics or technology), the recommendation of the guardian / a of course a letter of motivation, academic results and a personal interview.
