CREAL Director is a member of the Advisory Board of the new Public Health Agency of Catalonia

On May 25th was held the constituent meeting of the Public Health Advisory Board. Later it was officially launched at a public ceremony led by Boi Ruiz, Minister of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia. This is an advisory body on technical and scientific aspects of public health in which are involved twenty experts with acknowledged expertise in this area. One of them is the CREAL (Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology) Director, Dr. Josep M. Antó.

Specifically, the Public Health Advisory Board functions are to advise the governing bodies of the Public Health Agency of Catalonia in matters related to public health and to advise on aspects of public health directed by the Directors Board, among others.

In fact, this new board will work in making institutional declarations and preparing studies and reports, by the Directors Board of the Public Health Agency of Catalonia, on relevant aspects of public health and work, as case, in the annual assessment of the situation of public health in Catalonia. It shall also submit to the Directors Board of the Public Health Agency of Catalonia proposed measures.

The Public Health Advisory Board is made up of experts from the different aspects of public health and related fields who perform their duties with impartiality and independence. In addition to Dr. Antó, the other experts are: Pedro L. Alonso, Salvador Alsius i Clavera, Josep Arqués i Suriñach, F. Xavier Bosch i José, Miquel Bruguera Cortada, Victòria Camps Cervera, Mariano Domingo Álvarez, Àngela Domínguez García, Josep M. Gatell i Artigas, Pere Ibern i Regàs, Abel Mariné i Font, Josep M. Monfort i Bolívar, Antoni Plasència i Taradach, Guillem Prats i Pastor, Josep Ramos Montes, Marisol Rodríguez i Martínez, Claustre Solé Brichs, Antoni Trilla i García and Josep Vaqué Rafart.
