18.03.2026

The Campus Clínic —made up of Hospital Clínic Barcelona, IDIBAPS, ISGlobal, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of the University of Barcelona, the CAPSBE primary care centres and the Món Clínic Foundation— will hold on May 9, from 9:30 am to 4 pm, the second edition of Clínic Obert, a day designed to bring health, science and innovation closer to the public.

Throughout the morning and until early afternoon, professionals from all the campus institutions will offer more than one hundred activities on health, research and teaching, including workshops, guided visits, talks and participatory spaces.

A Health, Science and Teaching Campus open to the public

The Clínic Obert is a joint initiative that strengthens the identity of Campus Clínic as an integrated ecosystem of care, research and teaching. The event aims to show in a transparent and accessible way how its institutions work, what research is being promoted and which projects are being developed to improve people’s health and public wellbeing.

Campus Clínic seeks to maintain a close connection with its surroundings, build bridges with the local community and share knowledge with the city. For this reason, all activities have been proposed and designed by the professionals who work there, who on that day also take on an outreach and educational role.

More than 100 activities on health, research and prevention

In this edition, Clínic Obert will bring together nearly 100 activities promoted by professionals from all the institutions of Campus Clínic, with content designed for all audiences: families, children, young people and adults.

The programme includes:

  • Health and prevention workshops and talks on topics such as mental health, perinatal health, memory, allergies, cancer, diabetes, medicines, sustainability and healthy ageing, among others.
  • Technological and scientific demonstrations, such as 3D bioprinting, CAR-T therapy, liquid biopsies, neuropsychology and innovations in medical imaging diagnosis.
  • Hands-on workshops on resuscitation, healthy use of technologies, oral health, and skin and joint care, among others.
  • Guided visits to operating theatres, research laboratories, the sample bank, specialised units, the Dissection Room and historic spaces of the Faculty of Medicine, among others.

The aim is to offer a participatory and outreach experience that allows people to see first-hand how the campus institutions work and to understand the scientific advances that translate into improvements in healthcare.

An open, cultural and family-friendly celebration

Clínic Obert combines scientific outreach with a festive and community atmosphere. On Casanova Street (between Provença and París) and in the Duran i Reynals Gardens there will be:

  • Live music: El Pony Menut, La Jim Band and DJ Miqui Puig.
  • Physical activity with sessions of zumba, yoga and tai chi, among others.
  • Live healthy cooking with renowned chefs such as Arnau París, Ada Parellada, Maria Nicolau and Carlota Claver.
  • Culture and entertainment: swing with the Barcelona Swing Association, magic by Mag Stigman, a monologue by Oye Sherman, the voices of the Clínic Choir and a human tower performance by Esquerdats de l’Eixample.
  • Healthy food trucks and a large outdoor terrace to enjoy with family.

Clínic Obert is both a science outreach event and a celebration of health and science open to everyone.

Taking part in the future: the new Clínic-UB Health Campus

In addition to the outreach activities, visitors will find a large space dedicated to presenting the project for the new Clínic-UB Health Campus, which will be built on Avinguda Diagonal.

There will be participatory activities such as “Let’s draw the campus of the future”, “Let’s build the new campus with Lego” and “Dialogues on the future of health”, designed to share ideas and concerns about the future of the campus. This space aims to reinforce the idea that the new campus is built with people: professionals, students, patients, neighbours and the city as a whole.

Health, science and city life in one place
