10th edition of the fair «Recerca en directe»

Next 24, 25 and 26 of April will take place at La Pedrera the 10th edition of the fair «Recerca en directe» in which CREAL will explain some of our research projects and will teach as we measure pollution. The aim of this initiative - organised annually by the Parc Cientific de Barcelona and the CatalunyaCaixa Foundation -is to display some of the projects performed by research centres and institutions from Barcelona, to approach research to all the citizens and promote scientific careers amongst young people.

This year seven groups of researchers (IRB, IBEC, Ambar group from UB, CEPAP-UAB, IDIBAPS, Group for Research in Music Technology from UPF and CREAL) will move part of their labs to this emblematic space. The purpose of this initiative is that visitors participate in their experiments with the same instruments and materials used by scientists in their research. To promote the interaction of the public, in each stand there will be an enigma to solve following the scientific method.

Discover how a “surgeon robot” is assembled and try to perform an operation with it; break DNA to develop new therapies to fight cancer; create and interact with our musical avatar; and visualise how organisms looked and behaved in the age of dinosaurs. These are some of the projects in which visitors will have the opportunity to participate.
