PRBB centres present the Manual of Preventive Information (MPI)

Every centre of the Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) submitted on Tuesday 2 February the new manual of preventive information (MIP) in biomedical research. This report is the result of a months-long detailed and complex task, which has allowed standardizing the information, procedures and regulations for all laboratories at this research centre.

During the opening the General Director of PRBB, Jordi Camí, says that the manual has "implications because it saves many health problems in workers, reduces costs and is an ethical duty". In this regard, he added that preventive measures have "an ethical and moral commitment."

The manual includes “current regulations and compiles standards, criteria, instructions and recommendations to improve working habits, fulfilling the obligation to inform the staff and becoming an instrument for the integration of preventive activities in day-to-day work”, as the authors themselves explained in the introduction. It will be published as a trilingual book, in Catalan, Spanish and English and it will be delivered to all the personnel working.

The MIP was prepared by a working group composed of officials from different prevention PRBB centers are the Center for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL), the Municipal Institute of Medical Research (IMIM), Department of Experimental Sciences and Health at the University Pompeu Fabra (CEXS-UPF), the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG), the Center for Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona (CMRB), the Institute of Technology (IAT) and the Hospital del Mar (IMAS).
